Artyom Dervoed wins first prize in US International Guitar Concerto Competition

Russian guitarist Artyom Dervoed, has become the winner of the JoAnn Falletta International Guitar Concerto Competition, which concluded Friday night at Kleinhans Music Hall, says The Buffalo News. The 28-year-old musician performed brightly the Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo, accompanied by a symphony orchestra.
      
The judges awarded Artyom Dervoed with 7500 dollars, and invited to play concerts with symphony orchestras in Buffalo and Virginia. Second place was taken by Nemanja Ostojic, 26, of Serbia. The third went to Frenchman Thomas Viloteau.
      
Artyom Dervoed or King of Guitars, how he is called now, has won many awards in a series of important international competitions in Russia, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Japan, Israel, Malaysia and USA.
      
The International Guitar Competition was established by the Music Director of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, JoAnn Faletta . The contest has been held since 2006.
