Claudiu Lobonț graduated from the National University of Music Bucharest – Faculty of Musical Performance, the Classical Guitar specialization, in 2007. In 2009, he got his Master’s Degree at UNMB, Stylistic Interpretation – Chamber Music specialization, and in 2017 he got his Ph.D. at the same University. In 2008 he also started to study historical instruments (theorbo, archlute), and his interest in Early Music is objectified in his master and doctoral studies. He performed in the country and abroad and created the musical illustrations for various cultural projects (theatre, dance, fine arts, photography). He is currently a guitar teacher at the “George Enescu” National College of Music, Bucharest.
Claudiu Lobonț together with the guitarist Olivia Iancu made their debut as Duo Iancu-Lobonț in 2007. With an abundant activity, invited to perform in the most important profile festivals in the country, the duo has had also collaborations with various chamber ensembles and orchestras, both with guitars as well as historical instruments, in numerous Early Music projects, in the country and abroad.
