Tudor Gliga

Tudor Gliga was born in 1995 at Târgu-Mureș, Romania and started studying classical guitar when he was 14 years old with Ene Ovidiu Atanasiu. He graduated the Highschool of Arts in 2014, Târgu-Mureș at the instruments section, classical guitar. In that period of time, he participated at various music festivals such as: Harmonia Cordis International Guitar Festival (5th through 8th Edition), Terra Siculorum (4th through 7th Edition), Severin International Guitar Festival (4th Edition), Chants Sons sur Scene (2011 and 2012) and won various prizes in contests.

His path to improvement in guitar interpretive art took him through several specialized university centers in the country. He studied at the Music Department of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Oradea, and then at the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, where he graduated as head of promotion in 2018. In that timeframe, he won various prizes at national and international competitions alongside his ensemble partner, Orosz Dávid with whom he formed Duo Celeste. Afterwards he went on to finish his master degree studies at the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima” from Cluj-Napoca, in the class of University Lecturer Dr. Beke István Ferenc.

Two of the highlights of his Duo Celeste performances was in opening of the virtuoso guitarist Al Di Meola at the 10th Edition of the Harmonia Cordis International Guitar Festival and also in opening of the acoustic genius Tommy Emmanuel at the 11th Edition, respectively.

He participated in master classes given by Gabriel Bianco, Judicaël Peroy, Raffael Aguire, Csáki András, Pusztai Antal, Duo Melis, Thibaut Garcia, Katona Twins, Florian Larousse and many more. His numerous awards include: First Prize at the Transilvania International Guitar Festival, 13th Edition – Chamber music section; First Prize at the International Performance Contest “Dan Cumpăta”, Bucharest, 7th edition; First Prize at the National Guitar Competition "From Baroque to Rock", Sibiu, 3rd Edition – Chamber music section and Second Prize – Solo section; Second Prize at the International Instrumental and Vocal Performance Contest, Oradea, 1st Edition – Chamber music section; Third Prize at the Harmonia Cordis Composition Competition, 1st Edition and many more.

Recently, Tudor has been admitted to the Doctoral School “Sigismund Toduță”, Cluj-Napoca and is continuing his PhD studies at the National Academy of Music “Gheorghe Dima” from Cluj-Napoca under the guidance of composer and University Professor Dr. Adrian Pop.
