Cassie Martin
Revelation Guitare Classique Magazine 2018, Cassie Martin began playing guitar at the age of 5. After studying at the Orléans Conservatory, she entered Gérard Abiton's class at the Rayonnement Régional de Paris Conservatory in 2015. At 17, she entered the Conservatory National Supérieur de Musique et Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in Olivier Chassain's class, where she obtained her Master's degree in Performing Arts in 2024.
She has worked with such renowned international guitarists as Sergio Assad, Tania Chagnot, Jérémy Jouve, Judicaël Perroy, Eric Franceries and Johan Fostier, all of whom have helped shape her artistic development.
In 2020, she became one of the Eurostrings artists, opening up to the European scene.
In 2022 and 2024, she took part in Gautier Capuçon's "Un été en France 2022" tour.
In 2023, she was chosen by Sergio Assad to represent France in his project "The Woman and the guitar".
At the age of 22, she won the ICMA-Classeek 2024 Award and is the winner of numerous international competitions including 1st Prize at the GuitArt Plovdiv Competition 2023 (Bulgaria); 1st Prize at the Silesian Guitar Autumn 2022 (Poland); 1st Prize at the Forum Guitar Wien 2022 (Austria); 1st Prize at the Taiwan International Guitar Competition 2022; 1st Prize at the Alirio Diaz International Competition 2022 in Rust (Austria); 1st Prize at the Léopold Bellan International Guitar competition 2019 (France); 1st Prize at the Béarn Guitar Competition 2019 (France); 1st Prize at the Roland Dyens International Guitar competition 2018 (France); 1st Prize at the Carry-le-Rouet Internatuional Guitar Competition 2018 (France); 3rd Prize at the Antony International Guitar Competition 2023 ( France); 3rd Prize at the Paris International Guitar Competition 2022; 3rd Prize at the Brussels International Guitar Competition 2019 (Belgium).
Cassie Martin has given masterclasses and performed at festivals all over the world: China, Argentina, South Korea, USA, Thailand, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Bulgaria, Romania, Belgium, offering a repertoire ranging from early to contemporary music. She has performed the greatest concertos with orchestra in France, Poland, Spain: Joaquín Rodrigo's famous Aranjuez Concerto for guitar and orchestra, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Concerto in D op. 99.
She regularly performs as a chamber music guitar-violin duo with violinist Camille Théveneau.
After teaching at the Saint-Cloud Conservatory, she has been a professor at the Levallois-Perret Conservatory (Paris) since September 2023.
A Savarez artist, Cassie plays on a guitar by luthier Daniel Friederich.
