Alba Iulia International Classical Guitar Festival, 2009

The festival addresses to young guitarists and will have three sections: contest, master classes and recitals.

Regulations:

The Guitar Contest will have 3 age categories:

  • A Category: up to 12 years old (on the contest date)
  • B Category: 13 - 16 years old
  • C Category: 17 - 25 years old

A Category: the program will include works from different stylistic periods, with maximum duration of 12 minutes.

B and C Categories: the program will have a maximum duration of 18 minutes for B Category and 25 minutes for C Category and will include:

  • a Renaissance or Baroque work
  • a Classical or Romantic work
  • a Modern or Contemporary work.

A participant may register for a superior age category, but he/she may participate only for one age category only.The winners of C Category of previous editions may not participate in this competition.

Jury: Liviu Georgescu (Bucharest) - president of jury, Eugen Mang (Bucharest), Emilian Paraschiv (Alba-Iulia), Stefan Trifan (Cluj-Napoca).

Any editions of the presented works are allowed. The participants should show a copy of the scores to the secretary.

Participation fee: 50 lei payed at the arrival.

  • 50 lei/person/night, breakfast included, to a 3 stars hotel
  • to a board and lodging in rooms of 2 or 3 beds.

Master classes:

The master classes will be public conferences and will be free of charge for all the participants to the competition.

Lectors: Liviu Georgescu (Bucharest), Eugen Mang (Bucharest), Stefan Trifan (Cluj-Napoca).

The participation form will include the options for the master class teacher.

Recitals: Ionut Zamfirescu (Bucharest), Pusztay Antal (Hungary).
